There are many ways to take up an offering. Some churches pass the plate, a basket or an offering bag. Many churches provide online options, or an ATM in the foyer. A few churches have boxes in the back to drop your offering in on the way out. You have to wonder if the amount changes depending on the sermon:) At times church members will even withhold their offering because they do not like what is happening in their local congregation. Such as this example below.
While I am not a big fan of this, some few churches have the people come forward to give their offering. To me this would be very uncomfortable for visitors. However, no matter how the offering is taken up we can all learn a thing or two about the joy of giving from this guy. Maybe just minus a bit of the showmanship:)
“Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.” (2 Corinthians 9:6-8)
Enjoy your day:)
