I am a Jesus follower. Husband to Sarah, the love of my life, the proud dad of Ian and Kenya, two wonderfully crazy children  and Associate Pastor of Brooklin Village Church near Toronto, Ontario.  This is a personal blog which covers a wide variety of subjects. Life, ministry and the lighter side.

You may be asking what qualifications do I have to blog on these topics.

Well, I have been alive for 47 years and like most people have been to the mountain top and walked through the valley.

My wife and I have been in full-time pastoral ministry for 19 years.  We have served in 3 churches, first Evangel Temple  in Napanee, Ontario.  (Yes, the home of Avril Lavinge, and she was in our church when she was small.)  Then we moved to Agincourt Pentecostal Church and currently, we are serving at Brooklin Village Church and loving every minute of it.  Also I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for my work at Tyndale Seminary in the Master of Divinity program.

The Lighter Side

I am a Black Newfie (new-fee), born and raised (it’s a long story).  That does qualify me to look at the lighter side of life considering I come from a land of strange accents and the place responsible for more jokes than any other province in Canada.

You may be asking this guy is going to preach to me all the time should I really stick around.  Well the answer is a resounding “Yes”, first of all you can see by the topics that most of this site is not “churchy” at all.  Plus if I do get a bit “churchy” I would love to interact with people who do not believe like I do.  Nothing worse than preaching to the choir.

Thanks for dropping by:)
